Florida, places to get cert. [Mar. 12th, 2006|04:46 pm]

I'm looking for a place to get Diving certified in the melbourne, florida area, or surrounding areas.

I'm a little concerned from the business i have seen already that they may be a bit too touristy and not take there time or be complete. All of the ones i have found are targeted to the vacationer. Ideally, i would like to take my time, and learn to dive slowly and leave lots of room for explanation.

Does anyone have any recommendations?
anything i should look for or ask?
How much should i expect to pay?

Ok, so odd question for everyone... Do many of you have piercings...? (besides the standard lower ear lobe.)

Because it just seems like the cartilege in my ears and my nose rings always feel... "funny" after diving... No painfull, really, but they seem kinda swollen almost... my soft-tissue peircings are fine (lower ears and tongue) but it just seems like the ones that go through cartilege just get a little odd...

but maybe its just me.

Hi everyone, I just wanted to leave a post to say hi. I've been PADI certified for a year now, except I've only been able to dive 3 places (Caymons, West Palm Beach, and Key Largo). I'm heading to West Palm Beach again at the end of March and I was hoping to get a dive in but I've got no one to go with, anyone know a good dive shop down there/dive trip they recommend (probably only a one-day thing)? And wherever I go could set me up with a dive buddy since I don't have one right? Thanks!
